Changes made to GIS Public Access Web Services Version 2 March 24, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Overview map is now off by default on application start. - The spinning Summit County in the upper right corner of the window that indicated that the application was busy retrieving data has been replaced by the default ArcIMS progress bars that appear on top of the map display. Table of Contents changes: -------------------------- - Folder "Demographics" removed. Layers within that folder were removed or moved to other folders. - The order the folders appear in the table of contents has changed. This is controlled by the scripts that generate the table of contents and is not customized at this time. - The order the layers appear within the folders has changed. This is controlled by the scripts that generate the table of contents and is also based upon the draw order of the layers. Layers changes: --------------- - Geodetic Monuments removed. This is temporary while the Engineer develops an updated database. See their View Monuments tool at http://uber.engineer.co.summit.oh.us for current information. - Census Tracts removed. Census Tracts was downloaded from the U.S. Census Bureau and was out-of-date. See http://www.census.gov for the latest Census data. - Zipcodes removed. Zipcodes was removed because it may have mislead users that the layer was an accurate representation of zip codes as used by the U.S. Postal Service. This layer was actually U.S. Census Zip Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTA) which are generalized polygon representations of a linear dataset. - Old Lot Numbers removed. This is temporary. The information is still available as attributes in the Original Twp. Divisions layer. Make the Original Twp. Divisions the active layer, and use the Info tool to click on the map to get tract/section/lot information for the point clicked. - Low Mod moved to folder "Economic Development". - Jurisdictional Boundaries and Municipal Boundaries combined into Political Subdivisions under folder "Parcels". - Old Lots renamed to Original Twp. Divisions. - Roads renamed to Streets. - County Council Districts moved to folder "Parcels". - Drainage renamed to Hydrography. - Ten Foot Contour and Two Foot Contour combined into Contours. - Building footprints added. - Railroads added. - Spot Elevations added. - The drawing order of the layers has changed to improve map readability. - Symbology and the scales that many of the layers appear at have changed to improve map readability and navigation.
