Changes made to GIS Public Access Web Services Version 2 May 24, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - A service pack was applied to the ArcIMS software. Table of Contents changes: -------------------------- - Clicking on a layer name will now open a pop-up window to display metadata (descriptions of layer content) about the layer. If a layer does not have metadata, a contact information page for the agency responsible for the layer will be displayed. The metadata pages are copies of the metadata that are distributed on the data DVD's available for purchase from Summit County GIS. Therefore, some descriptions may differ slightly from the actual content of the layer as seen on the GPAWS site. This is temporary while Summit County GIS develops metadata for the "live" layers on the GPAWS site. - A "Reset Map" button has been added underneath the "Refresh Map" button. This button will reset the map to its original display extent, clear any selected features, and reset the table of contents to its default display properties. It also resets the Parcel Search and Other Info tabs. During the reset - which is essentially a complete reloading of the mapping application - if you get any error messages, just click through them and the application should eventually return to normal on its own. Layers changes: --------------- - The HOME Eligibility Areas layer has been added to the Economic Development folder. For a description of the HOME layer, see it's metadata. - The annotation layers in the Parcels folder have been re-ordered so that the Street Names annotation may display more often. This is in response to comments from the public about street names not displaying at the parcel level like they did before the previous site update. Due to software limitations, Summit County GIS has very little control over how labels are displayed, but will continue to work on improving the situation based on user feedback. EOF
