Abstract:
The 1994 Swamps layer contains points indicating the approximate locations of swampy areas, for all of Summit County, compiled by Woolpert LLP from 1994 aerial photography. The drainage points feature class was exported from a ESRI ARC/INFO Librarian database to a single county-wide shapefile using ArcView 3.2a, and ARC/INFO-specific attribute fields were then deleted from the shapefile using ArcGIS 8.3 SP2, by Summit County GIS in 2003.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a swamps layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.
