Abstract:
The 2000 Buildings layer contains building polygons for all of Summit County. This is an update to the 1994 buildings layer, originally compiled by Woolpert LLP from 1994 aerial photography. Kucera International, Inc. updated and error corrected buildings data in areas specified by Summit County Geographic Information Services from aerial photography taken in April 2000. Delivery format was in ESRI ARC/INFO coverage export format divided by orthophoto tile for use in a Librarian database. The building outlines (arc feature class) were extracted from the library, used to generate this polygon layer, and transfer the building type attribute from the outlines (KFEAT) to the polygons (Type), using ArcGIS 8.3 SP2, by Summit County GIS in 2003.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a buildings layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.
