Abstract:
The 2000 Contours layer contains contour lines depicting ground elevations at a 2 foot interval for all of Summit County. This is an update to the 1994 contours layer, originally compiled by Woolpert LLP from 1994 aerial photography. Kucera International, Inc. updated and error corrected contour data in areas specified by Summit County Geographic Information Services from aerial photography taken in April 2000. Delivery format was in ESRI ARC/INFO coverage export format divided by orthophoto tile. All tiles were then loaded into an SDE database, QC'd, and corrected for topology and other errors by Summit County GIS in 2003.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a contour layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.

Dataset has been checked for the following topology line rules by Summit County using ESRI's ArcGIS 8.3 SP 2: Must not intersect or touch interior, must not have dangles, and must not self-intersect. Dangles occuring at the edges of the dataset have been marked as exceptions.

The completeness of the dataset reflects ground elevations interpretable from aerial photography and survey data at the time of photography: 1994, except in areas of change, which is 2000.
