Abstract:

The 2000 Contours Annotation layer contains elevation label text for "index" contour lines (contours with an elevation that is a multiple of 10) for all of Summit County. This is an update to the 1994 contours annotation layer, originally by Woolpert LLP from the 1994 Contours line layer compiled from 1994 aerial photography. Kucera International, Inc. updated and error corrected contour annotation, based on updated contour data, in areas specified by Summit County Geographic Information Services, from aerial photography taken in April 2000. Delivery format was in ESRI ARC/INFO coverage export format divided by orthophoto tile. All tiles containing annotation were then appended into a single coverage, DXF-specific attributes calculated, and exported to DXF format by Summit County GIS in 2003.

Purpose:

To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a contour annotation layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.

This dataset was exported from an ESRI ARC/INFO Librarian coverage library and is valid for the topology rules pertaining to ESRI's coverage data format for annotation.

Completeness_Report:

The completeness of the dataset reflects ground elevations interpretable from aerial photography and survey data at the time of photography: 1994, except in areas of change, which is 2000. Annotation for each index contour has been placed on its corresponding line at an interval of about 20 centimeters on a 1:1200 scale map.
