Abstract:
The 2000 Roads Centerlines Annotation layer contains road name label text for road centerline features for all of Summit County. This is an update to the 1994 road centerlines annotation layer, originally compiled by Woolpert LLP from the 1994 Pavement Centerlines line layer compiled from 1994 aerial photography. Kucera International, Inc. updated and error corrected road centerline annotation, based on updated centerline data, in areas specified by Summit County Geographic Information Services, from aerial photography taken in April 2000. Delivery format was in ESRI ARC/INFO coverage export format divided by orthophoto tile. All tiles containing annotation were then appended into a single coverage, DXF-specific attributes calculated, and exported to DXF format by Summit County GIS in 2003.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a road centerline annotation layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.

This dataset was exported from an ESRI ARC/INFO Librarian coverage library and is valid for the topology rules pertaining to ESRI's coverage data format for annotation. Annotation of the same type follow the same cartographic rules for height, font, angles, and offsets.

The completeness of the dataset reflects road centerlines interpretable from aerial photography at the time of photography: 1994, except in areas of change, which is 2000, and road feature names data available at the time of compilation.
