Abstract:
The 2000 Digital Orthophotos raster catalog contains digital, color, ortho-rectified aerial photography for all of Summit County, compiled by Kucera International, Inc. from aerial photography taken in April 2000. Delivery format was in uncompressed Tiff, and Mr. SID Generation 2. The catalog is made up of 2110 non-overlapping, individual raster files. The name of each file is a combination of truncated northing and easting coordinate values of the southwest corner of each tile. Each file covers a geographic extent of 3000 by 2000 feet. Image resolution is 0.5 foot pixels. Negative scale of the aerial photography is 1"=660' (flight altitude 3960'). Mr. SID compression is 60:1. Vertical data used for ortho-rectification was compiled using airborne GPS and existing targeted geodetic control monumentation. A database file, in dBase format, containing a record for each photo, is included for viewing the catalog as a single seamless raster layer in ESRI software.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a color digital orthophotos layer in a manageable file size at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis. This dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for a map scale of 1"=100' (1:1200) for those purposes. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset.
