Abstract:
The Old Lots Annotation layer contains text labeling the boundaries of the Summit County Old Lots polygon layer with the name of the subdivision on each side of the boundary. Along with the Old Lots polygon layer, this dataset is currently under development. The dataset is maintained in an ESRI ARC/INFO LIBRARIAN database in an annotation feature class. The annotation was extracted from the database, DXF-specific fields calculated, and then exported to this DXF layer, using ARC/INFO 8.3 Workstation.
Purpose:
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County an an old lots annotation layer at a scale and accuracy useful for identification and cartographic output. The suitability of this dataset for any other uses is not guaranteed and the user assumes all risk for such uses. Summit County, Ohio, assumes no legal responsibility for works derived from this dataset. This dataset should never be relied upon to establish with certainty the location of property lines or the location of any other feature in relation to a property line. To establish a property line, or the relationship of a feature to a property line, the services of a Professional Surveyor, registered to practice in the State of Ohio, must be employed.

Each text label has been placed, sized, and justified, for optimum cartographic effect, according to standards established by Summit County, for use in producing 1:1200 (1"=100') and 1:2400 (1"=200') hard-copy maps. Wherever possible, labels have been placed along their corresponding old lot boundary, and sized and rotated so as not to interfere with other parcel map features.
